The Story of the Resurrection: On the first Easter Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and another woman named Mary came to visit the tomb where Jesus was buried. Like all Jesus' followers, they were very sad because he had been put to death on the cross. Suddenly an angel appeared. "Jesus is not here," said the angel. "He is risen from the dead. Go and tell all the others." On their way back, the risen Christ appeared to them, saying, "Tell my disciples that I will meet them in Galilee." The disciples Peter and John were amazed when they came to see the empty tomb for themselves. Later, the risen Jesus appeared to all the disciples gathered in Galilee. He said to them, "Tell the whole world about God's love.
